In this blog post there will be a summary of the 2008 film Food matters
In the documentary Food Matters (2008) is about finding how the human body works when it has a nutritional balance. Also the way the body doesn't need over the counter medicines and can heal on its own. This example is a quote Hippocrates saying “let thy food be thy medicine". The documentary goes on to explain how our vegetables are toxic because of the pesticides that are sprayed onto the plants because the plants aren't growing because of the lack of minerals in the soil in return the plants are being a tracked by insects and fungus so the farmers to the chemical companies and complain and then the companies sell them the pesticides that scary the toxins over the plants. They mention a type of nutritional the therapy call “Orthomolecular medicine" which is therapy by using doses of virtues instead of normal medication it is apparently illegal to practice. In the film niacin was used to help in suicidal depressed people recover and was a success until and psychiatrist told them it was harmful to be taking such a high dosage. The patient went from finally talking and sitting at the table to back into the corner.
